# Notion

Notion has two connected abilities on the same integration card:

1. \*\***Read/search**:\*\* lets Empire find information in the Notion workspace when asked in chat.
2. \*\***Pages, databases & publishing**:\*\* lets Empire list approved destinations and create a new page when the member presses \*\***Save**\*\*.

These permissions may be connected or updated separately.

###### Connect Notion for reading

1. Open \*\***Settings → Integrations**\*\*.
2. Press \*\***Connect**\*\* on Notion.
3. Choose the workspace and approve access.
4. Check that the main Notion status says \*\*Connected\*\*.

Then ask questions such as:

- \`@notion find my launch checklist\`
- \`@notion what does my current content plan say about this week?\`
- \`@notion find the page where I decided the new pricing\`

###### Connect Notion for saving and browsing destinations

1. On the Notion card, find \*\***Pages, databases & publishing**\*\*.
2. Press \*\***Connect Notion**\*\* or \*\***Update access**\*\*.
3. In Notion, choose the pages and databases Empire may use.
4. Approve the connection.
5. Return to Empire.

Notion shows Empire only the pages and databases shared with the integration. Empire does not receive a list of every private page in the workspace.

###### Save to Notion

1. Press the Notion save button on a reply, chat, Blueprint, or Brand Interview.
2. Enter or edit the page title.
3. Choose a Notion page or database.
4. Press \*\***Save now**\*\*.

Empire creates a \*\*new page\*\* inside the selected destination. It does not overwrite the source conversation or edit an existing Notion page.

###### If a page or database is missing

1. Press \*\***Refresh**\*\* in the destination browser.
2. Press \*\***Load more\***\* if it appears.
3. Use \*\***Can’t see it? Search by name**\*\*.
4. If it is still missing, press \*\***Update access**\*\* on the Notion integration card.
5. Select the missing page or database in Notion and approve again.

Notion may show several items with the same name. Empire labels each result as \*\***Page**\*\* or \*\***Database**\*\*, but matching names remain separate Notion items. Rename duplicates in Notion if they are hard to tell apart.
